Two boomerangs rest silently in the red dust — weathered, grounded, unthrown. They are more than carved wood. They are memory. They are presence. They are the echo of footsteps that once walked this land long before it was renamed, long before it was claimed. In many Aboriginal cultures across Australia, the boomerang is a tool of skill, survival, and story. It carries knowledge of wind, earth, and return. But here, these two lie still — representing the ancestors taken too soon through the violence of colonisation and genocide. They do not return in flight. They remain in Country. The red earth holds them gently, as it holds the stories that were never written in textbooks, the languages that were silenced, the families that were broken but never erased.
