What is your background and how did you start your journey in the art world?

“I never felt safe inside my home, so I sought refuge in my backyard. Nature became both my instructor and my closest companion. The large oak and palm trees surrounding my house provided a sanctuary where I could retreat into my own dream world, one in which I felt less afraid and always envisioned a happy ending. This began a journey of sketching myself as a tree. where i could escape into my own world and be the hero.”

What inspires you?

“As an art therapy coach and practitioner, I find much inspiration in the techniques of exploring your feeling and perspectives. I have a vibrant love for the world around me and love to observe human nature. I have a deep appreciation for nature, animals, music, pop culture, travel, and fashion.”

What themes do you pursue? Is there an underlying message in your work?

“Societal issues such as mental health and the spiritual struggles that many individuals face. My creations serve as a reflection of the journey toward overcoming trauma and portraying the resilience of the human spirit.”

How would you describe your work?

“Dreamlike landscapes where traditional motifs dance with contemporary expression. A bold color palette that transforms familiar scenes into extraordinary visions. Textural depths that invite both physical and emotional exploration. A seamless blend of heritage and innovation, creating a bridge between generations.”

Which artists influence you most?

“Frida Kahlo, Vincent Van Gough, Salvador Dali, and Claude Monet.”

“I have a deep appreciation for nature, animals, music, pop culture, travel, and fashion.”

What is your creative process like?

“I see images in my dreams and I recreate what I can remember, sometimes I go through my old artwork from when I was a kid which usually helps me to reflect on my past and allows me to question something in my past and then I paint what I feel. Or I go into my studio blast my favorite music and just put paint to canvas and usually I can see an image begin to appear.”

What is an artist’s role in society and how do you see that evolving?

“I feel that the arts allows society to discuss and ask questions about taboo subjects. I feel that the arts gives a platform and environment to question the norm. How are we to progress in society if we don't ask the hard questions? It is through that doorway that we will evolve and grow.”
