Zax is primarily a watercolourist, though she works across media. Nature, often imagined, inspires her: a bird's weight in her hand, a cheetah's fur, an elephant's trunk. Zax paints the same images repeatedly, chasing feeling over accuracy. Born in 1967, UK-raised, Zax is now based in Sweden and Umbria, Italy.
