Mira Seeman
Mira Seeman has been painting from her youth. She spent six years studying the art of painting. Of these six years, two were at an art school in Natanya, two at Avni high school and the remaining two with private teachers.
Her paintings are largely inspired by her dreams and feelings. They feature forests, fields and mountains among other natural landmarks. She is an oil painter and her art represents the vitality and beauty of nature.
What is your background and how did you start your journey in the art world?
“I started painting from an early age, but I was only able to reconnect with my art after retiring. Art then became a part of my life. I use art to describe my feelings towards nature and people around me. As a Reiki master, my art seeks to emit healing to humanity.”
What does your work aim to say? Does it comment on any current social or political issues?
“My work is a New Age Fashion. It spreads love, light and hope for a wonderful world to all people, despite religion, race or gender. We are all one with the nature around us and we are all beloved.”
Which current art world trends are you following?
“I love all forms of art, so I do not follow anything specific.”
Do you plan your work in advance, or is it improvisation?
“My art is not improvisation at all. I think for a while before I start painting something. I get inspiration for my paintings through dreams, thoughts and experiences from travels around the world. ”
What process, materials, techniques, etc., do you use to create your artwork?
“All my paintings are oil paintings, so oil is the main material I use.”
What does your art mean to you?
“Therapy, silence, quietness, and most of all, happiness.”
What’s your favourite artwork and why?
“My favorite artwork is ‘the Kiss’ - it describes the softness, emotions and beauty of love.”
Have you had any noteworthy exhibitions you'd like to share?
“I really loved my exhibitions at the Florence Biennale and at the Artexpo N.Y.”
