Interview

Sandra Froher

Frohers abstract paintings speak to a realm of hidden truths. Her lived experienced and understanding of the world are articulated through abstracted and layered colours to create a visceral connection to the unseen world. Froher chooses her materials deliberately to express the out come of her expression. Her latest technique features Acrylic pigments and ink on canvas. She channels energy through her body and blow air currents onto the canvas to create a type of marbling. Through this process, spiraling layers begin to emerge, which create a surreal mixture of opulence and other worldliness.

Froher is interested in the process of transformation and metamorphosis. With a distinct style of abstraction or what she calls "Energy Art." Her work brings together instinctive compositions while revealing the precise power of bold colours and sweeping gestural strokes. Froher's paintings bring alive the fundamental quest to express something personal hinting towards freedom in a poetic abstracted way. Froher’s art and fashion have been collected through out Europe and North America.

“As a natural born artist, I was born into a family of artists, and musicians were creativity was celebrated daily. As a child, I would dream in rolling vivid colours and would wake up feeling excited. My curiosity started young when I recognize the healing power of colour and creation. I bring colour to the world in the form of visual art and living colour into my fashion-line where I harness natures color on cloth. I describe myself as a Contemporary Energy Artist. My desire is to create paintings which bring energy onto the canvas. My work is deeply rooted in Spirituality I channel ancestral energies and translate them into colour, form and texture. My approach is intuitive and improvision, fostering a dynamic relationship of energetic exchange with each piece I bring to life. In my creative process, I embrace the philosophy of allowing the art work to reveal itself organically, without excessive pre-planning. Instead, I emphasize the importance of tuning into the emotional currents and energies that guide the evolution of my work. My approach mirrors a symbiotic dance between myself and the artistic creation, where the work unfolds in a way that resonates with the energies present in the moment. My hope is that the viewers connect emotionally with the paintings in their own way.”
