Reiner Langer
Reiner was born in1955 in Duisburg. He has had many many solo and group exhibitions around the world, including in Germany and Spain. He is a teacher in many workshops, master classes. His work is also featured in performance installations. For over 50 years, Reiner has only worked in originals.
What is your background and how did you start your journey in the art world?
“I started my journey in 1973 in the art world. Inspired from the old masters, I learned many techniques from an old Hungarian professor.”
What inspires you?
“The world, nature, my dreams and my own vision.”
What themes do you pursue? Is there an underlying message in your work?
“Life, death, love. The power inside life. Freedom. Peace. The wars around the world. Yes, I cry any time for love, peace and freedom.”
How would you describe your work?
“I work in a very specific technique. I stay in a world inside so many questions. People dream another dream when they see my works. My life is a fairytale.”
Which artists influence you most?
“Albrecht Dürer, Hohl ein and Goya. The Old Masters as well.”

What is your creative process like?
“I think about my life and dreams when I create.”
What is an artist’s role in society and how do you see that evolving?
“Artists stay political. Art is not only decorative. Art is a big message. Almost like a big bang.”
