Lisa is an artist from Sweden and lives in a town called Oxelösund. As far as she can remember, she has always loved to paint. Her art are full of feelings and emotions. She wants to wake you up and make you react in all sorts of ways.

What is your background and how did you start your journey in the art world?

“I have always loved to paint and be creative. In my younger years, I took some watercolours classes. I'm mainly self-taught and sometimes it make me unsecure regarding my skills. I began to believe in myself for some years ago and my creativity just got stronger and stronger for each day.”

What inspires you?

“I get inspired by many things. Other artist with similar or different expression inspires me. Life itself inspires me; different feelings make me paint in special ways.”

What themes do you pursue? Is there an underlying message in your work?

“My work often reflect how I feel or have felt. The themes are all kind of feelings and movement.”

“My work often reflect how I feel or have felt. The themes are all kind of feelings and movement.”

How would you describe your work?

“My work are a mix of feelings and I want that the work starts a reaction within you. My work should make you wanna create a story of your own.”

What is your creative process like?

“I mostly just sit down and sketch or paint from the heart. I like to have my head clear from a locked idea and let the feeling right now lead my creative process.”

What is an artist’s role in society and how do you see that evolving?

“I'm still very new in this way of thinking about my art but I think art can help in different ways. Art can bring happiness, can get you through difficulties, important questions can be highlighted in art. I hope art can grow stronger and stronger because art can be so much and I think that's the beauty of it.”
