What is your background and how did you start your journey in the art world?

“I am Russian born, but currently living in America (Boston, MA). As an artist, I love to explore different techniques of modern art, and I have developed my own unique graphics and oil painting style over years of practice. I started learning how to create art from an early age, and although I do not have an a degree in art, I am constantly refining my skills and techniques.”

“I am constantly looking for something new, so my creative process is quite spontaneous. For instance, you can find great views of the ocean, or simply a screwdriver in your garage - and in that moment you can capture something uniquely beautiful.”

What inspires you most?

“Picturesque lighthouses, animals and ocean views all inspire me and are brought to life with contrasting and harmonious colors and bold compositions. As an artist, I want to convey the message that, “I am a storyteller and welcome you to join me on this visual journey.””

How would you describe your work?

“I would describe my personal style as distinctly emanating joy and peace through expressing the vibrant spirit and atmosphere of Russian culture and the American landscape.”

“I want to show people the beauty of the world through simplicity. Small details are important, as they allow people to stop for a moment and see the mystery contained in these simple things.”

Which artists influence you most?

“I really enjoy the style of Edward Hopper’s work.”

What is your creative process like?

“I am constantly looking for something new, so my creative process is quite spontaneous. For instance, you can find great views of the ocean, or simply a screwdriver in your garage - and in that moment you can capture something uniquely beautiful.”

What is an artist’s role in society and how do you see that evolving?

“Artists inspire people; they provide hope and joy. In this busy and fast moving world, artists can help you to step beck and feel mindfulness.”

Have you had any noteworthy exhibitions you'd like to share?

“I would say my latest exhibition, which was in February 2020 at the Piano Craft Gallery in Boston, Massachusetts. Unfortunately it has been challenging lately with Covid to arrange exhibitions.”
