Interview

Dr. Jana Nirvana

Since completing her doctorate in history at Leibniz University Hannover in early 2020, Jana has rediscovered her passion for art and the salvation she can find in painting. Her inspiration came in the first "lockdown" when she was painting in the streets with other artists to not become crazy and she realized that art helps her to break free from external circumstances. Since then, Jana did not stop painting and actually have left her profession as historian behind and became a full time artist.

What is your background and how did you start your journey in the art world?

“I was born in the Czech Republic when it was Czechoslovakia in the Communist system. I have spent most of my life in Germany so far. I studied in France, among other places, where I exhibited and sold my works in art galleries on the Côte d'Azur back in 2000.”

What inspires you?

“My inspiration comes from my highest self. It is the source within me that is pulling me to paint and share the spiritual teachings I have learned over the course of last 20 years with others and inspire others. My mission is to help raise the collective vibrations on this planet with my energy art works. I do so by creating high vibration art that optimizes the energy of its surrounding and also by giving spiritual painting sessions, physically and online to people who want to connect with their soul easily and work on certain themes in their life.”

What themes do you pursue? Is there an underlying message in your work?

“My favorite theme are the realms of the universe and the abundance in the energy field that connects all of life. I love positive psychology, energy work and self-coaching. Actually, it is all about self-mastery, a subject that should definitely be taught at schools. So, in my compositions I love to combine affirmations and spiritual abstractionism. The message of my art can be titled with the term of Quantum jumping. It means that you can heal simultaneously if you get to the place, in an already existing dimension of the universe, where your healing is already complete. So for me, art is not just a means of distraction from everyday life and the associated trauma. Rather, art takes me by the hand and pulls me up into higher vibrational levels - with miraculous ease. Creating art opens up our subconscious and allows immediate access to our soul and I love to spread this healing method with the world. I have written a chapter in Marie Diamond’s book Global Conscious Entrepreneurs 2 about my path to art and how I developed this unique healing method.”

How would you describe your work?

“What we are and what is fundamental to us lies in the correlation between our thinking and being. In the post-modern society our relation is often disturbed between how we act in real daily life and what we actually would like to experience on the deepest of our heart. What I see is that contemporary art is required to override this subjective experience as the telos and condition of the work of art. With my creations I aim to encounter the collapse of paradigm structures in contemporary art and in today's society by ignoring rational, speculative realism and instead allowing healing places of light to arise on another high-vibrating level of our being. After all, the liberation from low vibrations, which we only retrospectively presuppose and in fact cannot delve into without interpretation, is nothing more than another illusion.”

Which artists influence you most?

“This is a tough question because there are so so many amazing artists. I definitely admire the "mother" of abstraction Hilma af Klint and her mystical visions as energetic messengers of a new era. Actually it was her who inspired Kandinsky. Concerning the will power and achievements in the artist history I marvel Pablo Picasso and Salvatór Dalí and of course the works of Gerhard Richter and Neo Rauch as showcase artists. Furthermore, I am influenced by the 5D transition in the frame of the global awakening process and the teachings of the "masters" in this field.”

“What we are and what is fundamental to us lies in the correlation between our thinking and being.”

What is your creative process like?

“Our whole life is a creative process. We create with every thought, every feeling of our being, every intention and expectation. It is all about realizing that the universe does not know competition as it's spirit, the chi or so called life energy is solely creative. So when I create an art work, it is all about connecting with the source of all being in me, mostly by getting in a high vibrational state in a meditative practice. Then it is about allowing myself to let "it" flow out of me without judgement and with the intention to create a high vibration piece according to the current energy. Creating art actually deepens my meditative state of being awake and accessing themes in my subconscious at the same time. Whether I work with acrylics or oils on canvas or simply make a drawing in my sketch book, it is every time a magical experience.”

What is an artist’s role in society and how do you see that evolving?

“The role of artists in this world is increasingly of relevance, propably art was never as important as today. Art is all about the exchange between the artist's work and his public. It is this exchange that makes reflections on the societal happennings possible. Hence, if the public is not well educated and has no access to art, reflecting on the structures of a given society is practically impossible. What I can clearly see is that the role of an artist is to allow the public to envision different perspectives and thus, to inspire people to re-think how we want our cultures to contribute to the continuation of the world. Think just about Jules Verne. Without his vision of flying to the moon, would that have ever happened? Especially, since the events in 2020 I see the evolvement of a decentralized art world that combines narratives independently on the artistic style and context merging with digital art.”

Have you had any noteworthy exhibitions you'd like to share?

“Actually, I have several current exhibitions and I would like to mention my art show titled "It all comes in waves" in which I have worked with material remains from the "Corona time" and transformed them into art pieces playing with colors, forms and structures to underline the adaptation capacity of an individual. In this special exhibition at the Senior Neighborhood Meeting Point in Hannover where I live by, I aim to create a healing space for wonder, reflection and exchange through my artistic perspective. To name some past exhibitions, I have exposed art works digitally at the Miami Art Weeks, USA that have been sold and also in the Swissartexpo in Zurich. I have also recently participated in a 3D Art Show at the International Digital Group Exposition "Global Horizons: Celestial Journeys V" of the Artio Gallery. Actually, I have started collaborating with two local art galleries in Hannover, the luxury Art Gallery K43 and the Online Gallery POSH VISION. I also sell my art works worldwide on the Singulart Online Art Gallery. Actually, I am planning art shows in London, UK and much more to come!”
