Interview

Iwona Nyka

Iwona’s adventure with drawing began in primary school, and it continues to give her a lot of satisfaction and fulfillment to this day.

What is your background and how did you start your journey?

“I love to create with ink on paper, and sometimes I’ll also use acrylic paints.”

What inspires you most?

“I’m inspired by the universe, the energy of life, nature, and people.”

“The message my art aims to send is this:

Less time for yourself, do what you love, and be a creator.”

What themes do you pursue? Is there an underlying message in your work?

“The two main themes in my art are that everything is possible, and that the universe is unlimited.”

How would you describe your work?

“My works are an expression of the unity of the universe. It emphasizes that every little detail matters and is important.”

Which artists influence you most?

“There haven’t yet been any artists who’ve been particularly influential on my journey. Instead, I prefer to keep my focus on my own craft because I’d like my work to be unique. I hope I’ve been successful in doing that.”

What is your creative process like?

“My creativity peaks when my batteries are charged either after a walk in the park, a day at the beach, meditation, or reading an interesting book. When I get a creative idea, the most important aspect is the inspiration; the general picture of what it’s supposed to be and why. Once I get that down, I begin to work on the details.”

What is an artist’s role in society and how do you see that evolving?

“The role of the artist is to draw the viewer’s attention towards a certain topic; to keep them focused and help them feel the reflection so that they can draw their own conclusions.”
