What is your background and how did you start your journey in the art world?

“I’m an artist in DNA, I did theater in my childhood and adolescence, my first love in art, and in same time I painted. It has been a revelation for me, it’ll be my life. I did exhibitions since 1996. At a moment of my life, I must put all my dreams in a little box on hold, because I haven’t the choice. At 40, the artist’s life comes back at my door and I take the chance to put all my dreams out my box and to let them live. I never do things in half, and when I decide to do something, I do all is possible to make it true, I never give up, and I follow my intuition. The paper and the pigments are my favorite base of work. I love to use the gold as painting or leaf like medium of light. I like to use natural matter like ground of coffee, plants, flowers, spices.”

Purple Rain - When Doves Cry (inspired by Prince)

What inspires you?

“I take my inspiration in the nature, life, music, travels, the 7th art that is a good source of inspiration. I love to make a sort of story like a theater piece. I like to work with the matter, and sometimes, that gives me an idea to make a canvas. I take my inspiration in my experiences too, with the meeting I have in my life.”

What themes do you pursue? Is there an underlying message in your work?

“I try to give me no limits in the themes. I follow my heart and my intuition. I love to work the abstract and the figurative too, and I try to make a mixed between them sometimes, it depends of the advancement of my creation and subject. For my part, I want to share the joy I have to create. I wish to offer a part of this light I see in life, to give good energy to the person who watches my paintings.”

How would you describe your work?

“I’m someone stubborn, passionate, sensible, intuitive, curious and I love to discover and to learn. I’m very open mind and I always try to understand. I like to observe the life, the people and to take some part of all of that to create my personal expression. When I’m painting, it wakes up the strength I have inside me, and gives me a lot of energy.”

Which artists influence you most?

“I love J.M.W. Turner, Zao Wu-Ki, Van Gogh, H.R. Giger, Frida Kahlo, Faith Ringgold, Mirò, Beaudelaire, Marylin Monroe, Prince, Tim Burton, etc. so many artists that I "meet" in the exhibitions, in the museums, in the cinema, in library. They inspire me and awake me to my interior richness.”

We Are All Stars (inspired by Marilyn Monroe)

“When I’m painting, it wakes up the strength I have inside me, and gives me a lot of energy.”

What is your creative process like?

“I’m always listening of all is around me, a sign, something happens of recuring way, a flash with a picture, a music. And at a moment I know, I have in my hands what is necessary to create an artwork. I dialogue with the matter and I like to discover what it wants to ask me, to read in the paper what is hidden. The energy you can find inside. Even I have the painting in my head, the matter has it rules, and when it doesn’t want to do something, you need to listen. I speak a lot of time with my paintings to find the solution together, and I’m always surprised of the result.”

What is an artist’s role in society and how do you see that evolving?

“An artist makes alive dreams never mind of the medium, it could be a vision of light or darkness, it depends of the emotional package and all the experiences you carry. You have the choice and the responsibility to your creation. It’s my vision of that.”

Have you had any noteworthy exhibitions you'd like to share?

“I started my comeback in my artist’s life in December 2022 in digital with Expo Metro in Miami Beach during the Art Basel, after linked up in beginning of 2023 in Paris with Art Show Paris Bastille XV, Expo Metro in Barcelona in June. The 2nd part of 2023 was amazing, one of my dream come true to expose in real in the USA, realized with AD ArtShow by MvVO ART & The Clio Awards in October in the Powerhouse of Arts in Brooklyn (I’m a part of this family now) , and after will follow Times Square with Expo Metro and with it next week Miami Beach + Arbox.Project in the same week. I received end year a Certificat of Artistic Achivement of the Luxembourg Art Prize for my first participation of the contest, and some awards from Los Angeles with The Teravarna Art Gallery in end 2023-begining 2024.”
