What is your background and how did you start your journey in the art world?

“Inspired by the Post-Impressionists, I started experimenting with acrylic, oil and gouache before later specialising in watercolor and ink painting. I became a student of the art academy lecturers Enriko Richter, Berlin and Werner Maier, Munich. This was followed by intensive studies in anatomy (Gottfried Bammes and Andras Szunyoghy). I was influenced by the watercolorist and Designer Chary Walter.”

What does your work aim to say? Does it comment on any current social or political issues?

“I'm working on non-representional art, scenarios, themes of current affairs (poverty, environment, escape), also political themes. Political themes: In my opinion, the influence of art on politics is marginal at best, this also changes the picture "Guernica" nothing. A hundred people are estimated to be interested in about 5% in art.”

Do you plan your work in advance, or is it improvisation?

“I combine fine details with expressive passages. Especially on portraits I have a plan. My abstract artwork is pure improvisation. I only prepare the colours here.”

Are there any art world trends you are following?

“No, I follow my own inspiration. This is because the combination of watercolor with ink is very rare.”

What process, materials and techniques do you use to create your artwork?

“The flow of watercolour and ink always fascinates me. It's risky and there are always surprises.”

What does your art mean to you?

“My art gives me joy, satisfaction and also feelings of happiness. It should stimulate questions to ask, It brings joy and also encourage to think.”

What’s your favourite artwork and why?

“At the moment ‘Music World’: It combines the portrait in the night light, the large stage in the spectacle light and the music atmosphere within abstract form.”
