Franziska Menzel
Franziska, also known as Franciline, is 41 years old. She is based in Frankfurt, Germany. Franziska initially studied economics. However, it isn‘t fulfilling her anymore so she created a new way of life for herself.
What is your background and how did you start your journey in the art world?
“Due to my meditative practices, I get starting getting open minded and got input for painting some pictures. And with every created picture a hidden message was put by my spiritual team. And so, the door was opened for me to create artworks. Furthermore, I create lyrics and work as a spiritual holistic healer.”
What inspires you?
“I regularly meditate every day about 1 hour or more. There, I get input what to create and what messages to give to the people for getting a wider conscious.”
What themes do you pursue? Is there an underlying message in your work?
“Yes, there is. It is dealing with the soul and the connection to each other. Everything, which has a soul is connected. And the shaman are believing that all nature things having a soul. Everything is based on energy.”
How would you describe your work?
“I prefer abstract art, very colourful. Because colour is rhythm. Every colour has an own rhythm and a own message . It is most presented with eyes because they are meant to be the entry to the soul and the expression of the soul. And hearts. In every artwork you‘ll find a heart.”
Which artists influence you most?
“Andy Warhol, Frida Kahlo, Salvador Dali, Friedensreich Hundertwasser.”
What is an artist’s role in society and how do you see that evolving?
“An artist should be inspiring people in every part of life. Free soul, free mind, free life. Art makes free. In the below mentioned parts.”
Have you had any noteworthy exhibitions you'd like to share?
“My exhibition with Picegallery. And I have upcoming exhibitions in Amsterdam Central and the London tube. I also have an exhibition in Basel via artboxy.”
