Edita Åbrink

Edita was born in Lithuania and she moved to Sweden in 2010. She has a cleaning business with her husband, which is hard work. She has always wanted and dreamed of painting, but has not previously had time for it. She started painting in 2022, when she tried to paint some paintings of nature. Due to her full-time job, she only paints in her spare time. When she paints, she finds peace of mind and can be herself. It gives her many strong, wonderful emotions that are hard to describe. And the soul dances with joy. Through her paintings, she can show the world who she really is. When she paints she has no plan on what to paint, as inspiration comes spontaneously. It gives so much more than she has expected in life, wonderful things have happened. She has no official schooling in art.

Through her paintings, she wants to inspire other people. Her wish is to have more time to create new paintings. She has large future plans, goals and ambitions, which she enjoys. One of the best things that happened to her is painting, It makes her happy.

 

What is your background and how did you start your journey in the art world?

“I was born in Lithuania and moved to Sweden in 2010. I am 39 years old. Through a lot of hardships and struggles in my life, I found my art world. Fate opened new opportunities for me which was painting. I started painting in 2022, when I tried to paint some paintings of nature. In mid-January 2023 I started painting with a different technique (fluid art), which I fell in love with. I do not have official schooling in art. I learned all the techniques, mixing colors, what materials to use on Youtube.”

What does your work aim to say? Does it comment on any current social or political issues?

“My paintings show how beautiful the world we live in is, what emotions we have, feelings, little things which we do not focus in life. I put all my heart and soul in my paintings, emotions and feelings and my paintings show that.”

Do you plan your work in advance, or is it improvisation?

“When I am painting I do not have plan on what to paint, as inspiration comes spontaneously on which colors or techniques I should use. Everything comes from within, I don't plan, it just happens. I am thrilled that I started painting. It gives so much more than you expect in life, wonderful things have happened since I’ve started painting.”

Are there any art world trends you are following?

“Fluidart and resinart.”

“I put all my heart and soul in my paintings, emotions and feelings and my paintings show that.”

What process, materials and techniques do you use to create your artwork?

“I do fluiart and now I have started with resin art and other techniques such as modeling paste. I use to different techniques and different materials, some of the materials are all-round medium adhesive varnish (glue) or glossy, acrylic paint, water, canvas, clear varnish glossy spray for protection. Sometimes I use cell activator which is an all-round medium adhesive varnish (glue) or glossy, acrylic paint, water, silicone oil. I also use cell activator which is an Australian Flood floetrol, acrylic paint and cell activator floetrol, water, acrylic paint , silicone oil, resin, crushed glass, pigment coulours to resin.”

What does your art mean to you?

“When I am painting, I find peace of mind and can myself. I can show my true feelings through my paintings, when I am in my "own world." It gives me many strong, wonderful emotions that are hard to describe. And the soul dances with joy. Through my paintings, I can show the world who I really am.”

What’s your favourite artwork and why?

“My favourite artwork is Storm in the Ocean, it represents emotions and remind us that we have strong feelings, good days -bad days, happiness and sadness and it’s okay, life is beautiful and we have coulorful feelings, because we are humans. We don’t need to hide our feelings, but express them. With doing that we feel much more better, we let it go.”

Have you had any noteworthy exhibitions you'd like to share?

“I had 6 exhibitions in different countries. I started with Pashmin Art Consortia in Germany art Gallery and had exhibition In China Chongqing Hong Art Museum organized by Pashmin Art Consortia. I had exhibitions in Italy Rome, Georgia, Japan Tokyo, Amman Jordan, and Turkey organized by First Wish Art Gallery. All the exhibitions were amazing, so much experience to artists and artworld is wonderful, it’s difficult to describe emotions that you feel when your artwork is showed to the crowd. My soul is dancing and I feel free. I have copyright from First Wish Art Gallery and Pashmin Art Consortia.”
