Cynthia Schumann
An abstract artist in Colorado whose love of color, form and nature, helps her paint cheerful, energetic and fanciful works that inspire. Cynthia is an awarded Cosmetologist, salon owner and musician, who also has an assoc. degree in fashion design. She was also a sales manager for hotels. She has worked with color, shape, movement and style since a young teen and observed her mother oil painting during her childhood. Cynthia began her art with the intention to first master watercolor, which she felt was the most difficult medium. Her watercolors are of wildlife and nature. She then went on to paint abstracts and other mediums. Cynthia now paints large pieces, commissioned paintings, and pet portraits. Her faith is very important to her and this colors the emotion she puts into her work. Inspiration comes through looking at creation, galaxies, planets, wildlife and natural phenomenon. Cynthia’s creative process involves observing painting techniques, photographs, great works and the natural world. She will start with an idea for an abstract, but it usually evolves as she creates along the way, becoming something new. She is obsessed with the challenge and fun of taking a blank canvas and creating something awe-inspiring. Part of the process is to take a one dimensional surface and make it look three dimensional. Her hope is to bring joy, peace and a sense of well-being to the observer.
