A Creative Soul, Chris Vella.
For Chris, art is a wonderful passionate mind stretching experience. A never ending exploration of form, colour, spirit and movement. She is now 75 years old and it is her passion to pass on her creative knowledge to young people and plant the seed in their heart and mind so to encourage them to think creatively, to think outside of the box.
Over the years Chris displayed her work in many exhibitions, NSW, Victoria, Canberra, and Queensland. Also many works are hanging with private collectors in Germany.
Chris studied at Wollongong Art College and University of Wollongong. Travelled Europe, America, Thailand, New Zealand and Canada. She came to the conclusion that art is a significant sign of the times and even though we live oceans apart, our perceptions connect.
It is her passion to pass on her knowledge to young people, to plant a creative seed in their heart and mind so along with her own art making. Chris has been teaching kids and curating exhibitions of their work. She hopes with her students that her passion for art is contagious because one of her aims in life now, is to pass on all my knowledge and passion that she has collected over 45 years, throughout all of her life really. We inspire each other!
About:
Chris Vella was born in Sydney. She was raised in suburban Balmain NSW Australia. Her art and paintings have been her professional life, her social life, her therapy, her life saver and most of all, her identity. Life is not all hugs and kisses, an easy ride. Despite the many challenges she has lived through, a fabulous inspirational life and creative journey awaits. At the age of 30, she moved from city to country - to a beautiful little place called Callala Bay on the South Coast of NSW. Then change took place again, and she moved from beach to mountain, lived at Mt. Beppo Queensland but then moved back to the sea, lived in Woolgoolga NSW but Budgewoi, Central coast is home now.
