Mariken
"I paint from unknown places in my head." Mariken is a mixed media artist from the Netherlands. She uses acryl, old books, wallpaper, crayons, pastels and pencils in her paintings. In a dark period in her life she painted every day a self-portrait. Not from outside but from within. All the feelings like anxiety, fear, doubt, panic attacks and all the insecurities during that period. She wants to break taboos about mental illness.
