Jan Hannah
Jan’s art has evolved inexplicably over a short amount of time, which, in her opinion, is the result of five crazy years of significant changes in her personal life. She was born in Scotland, trained in illustration, and worked on wildlife books, focusing on replicating an image with fine detail. However, over time, this style left her uninspired and void of passion. Then, what followed was an unexpected 180-degree turn that led to complete artistic freedom and joy. She discovered panel boards, acrylic paints, mixed media, and mark-making tools, which have led to a new path of discovery: semi-abstract landscapes. Some days at the easel are frustrating, but always, at some point, the songbird performs a freestyle song that feels like a gift from her to Jan. The trip is abstract in nature, and it’s not finished yet. Meanwhile, she continues to work in the hope that her efforts may be acknowledged more widely.
