What is your background and how did you start your journey in the art world?
“I was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. My journey into the art world happened during the Covid pandemic. I believe my life leading up to this experience has provided me with all the tools knowledge and inspiration is expressed in my work.”
What does your work aim to say? Does it comment on any current social or political issues?
“My work is very personal, it is an expression of my personal journey through childhood trauma from sexual abuse that led to social isolation and therefore the healing journey that followed and my lifelong struggle to understand my place in the world. Through the healing art modalities of macrobiotic cooking, reiki, yoga, and Feng shui which I have achieved Master levels, I believe that all have influenced my work immensely. What appears in life through my eyes as colorless shades, begin to emerge as colors on my canvas. I do believe that my work is very personal it does not connect to any current social issues.”
Do you plan your work in advance, or is it improvisation?
“I do and I do not. Only when I work with jute, which requires a minimum of 350 meters in order to fill up a canvas 80x100, inspiration is in the moment.”
“My art represents my personal transformation, self affirmation, love, self-care, and the determination to break free from the confusion and sorrow of the past. And when done, so freedom to love.”
Are there any art world trends are you following?
“I don't really follow trends. I’m influenced by color from the ever changing scenery of the seasons and day to day life challenges and joy.”
What process, materials and techniques do you use to create your artwork?
“I consider myself an abstract artist, which allows me to create forms and shapes, using different medium like, sand, jute, gold leaf, plastic flowers and miniature toy to mention a few.”
What does your art mean to you?
“My work is a deeply personal expression that seeks to connect with others on an emotional level. I focus on joy, childhood memories, and deep emotions that creates a powerful and relatable connection with me audience. The use of texture, color, and natural forms adds a layer of sensory experience, inviting viewers to engage with my work on a tactile and visual level. I offer a space for reflection and healing. My work becomes a mirror, allowing viewers to contemplate their own experiences and emotions. This is a truly beautiful and meaningful for me.”
What’s your favourite artwork and why?
“My first piece that I created was a piece I called ‘knots in my soul.’ It was immediately after the passing of my mother and the first piece that I ever created. It was an expression of the loss that I felt having not being able to be with her during her passing. It was Covid; she lived in Argentina. I had not seen her in a very long time. At this point in my life that I started to create and paint expression of the loss and the love that I had for my mother, I discovered something deeply profound that I had ever imagined.”
Have you had any noteworthy exhibitions you'd like to share?
“In 2022, I was featured by Saatchi Art in a Collective Collection. In 2023, I participated in a collective show in Milan, Italy where I sold through a gallery my first piece in Europe.”
