Capital of Magna Graecia par excellence, Roman Poseidonia, half an hour from Pompei and Ercolano, a place where echoes of ancient greeks, minoans, egyptians and roman cultures fuse togheter with wild nature; with a passion for hospitality and art, the 2024 artist-in-residence program launched by 'Il Cannito' luxury hotel and farmhouse in Paestum-Capaccio, will host the Turin based painter & sculptor Alberto Ballocca.
The artist, engaged in the creation of a huge sculptural work that will explore, re-arrange and bound elements taken from the classical greek myth of Pandora, philosophical fragments of Parmenide di Elea, 'Physis-Nomos' anthitesis and natural aesthetics in a creative excursus that will combine natural gifts of the southern Italian panorama, ecosystem, turism and ancient myths and philosophy, with the renewed vision of the young eclectic '93 artist. Specialized in ancient cultures and natural patterns, Alberto, works with multiple mediums, in compliance with the technique and project development used for his successfull project 'Orama' presented and exhibited in Amsterdam in November 2023, his art exudes ancient wisdom, living memory of a culture that finds historical traces and philosophical roots in the land of Paestum - Capaccio (Salerno - Italy).
